NCS is excited to welcome back all alumnae to the Close for Reunion Weekend, especially this year as we are celebrating NCS’s 125th anniversary! That said, the milestone Classes are 1950, 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975 (50th), 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000 (25th), 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020.
Life is about celebrating milestones – birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and yes, reunions! Whether you attended NCS for one year or all nine, you are a part of the fabric of this community and the history of this institution. We invite you to return to the Close to reflect, reconnect, and reminisce on your years here and celebrate how far you and your classmates have come in the years since.
This year, we are excited to offer the 20 rooms at the Virginia Mae Center (formerly known as the College of Preachers) to Reunion-year alumnae. The 50th Reunion Class of 1975 has been given priority; however, if there are remaining rooms after Jan. 1, 2025, the Alumnae Office will release them. Other nearby hotel options include:
Glover Park Hotel $$$ (0.9 mi away) Omni Shoreham $$$ (1.4 mi away) Days Inn by Wyndham on Connecticut Ave. NW $$ (1.8 mi away) Embassy Suites by Hilton on Wisconsin Ave. NW $$ (2.3 mi away)
We are fortunate to have an excellent coffee shop on campus, Open City at the National Cathedral. It is open daily from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm and serves breakfast and lunch. Cathedral Commons is just north of NCS along Wisconsin Ave. NW and is home to 2 Amy’s (pizza), Cactus Cantina (Mexican), La Piquette (French), Jettie’s (sandwiches), Heritage India (Indian), Barcelona Wine Bar (Spanish tapas), Raku (Japanese), Silver (American), Starbucks, and more.
Due to Flower Mart, parking in the Cathedral garage will fill early on both Friday and Saturday mornings. The garage will close at 2:00 am on Friday and 11:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. In-and-out parking privileges are not available on either day.
On Friday, the garage will charge normal parking fees: $6 for the first hour, $11 for the second hour, $15 for the third hour, $22 for 3+ hours, and a $7 flat rate after 4:00 pm. Validation stickers for your parking ticket will be available at the Hearst reception desk until 8:00 pm; please validate no more than 30 minutes before you depart from the garage; please remember to bring your parking entry ticket. If you choose to leave the garage after 8:00 pm, the gate will be up as you exit.
Friday/Flower Mart Traffic: If you are attending Friday afternoon events, we encourage you to plan extra time to drive and park.
On Saturday, the garage will charge an “Event Parking” rate: $10 CASH ONLY to enter. The gate will be up as you exit.
Nearby Parking: Paid garage parking is available below the Giant grocery store at Cathedral Commons, off Wisconsin Ave. (Enter from Macomb or Newark Streets.)
On Sunday, the garage will be open and free until 4:00 pm for those attending service at Washington National Cathedral and/or the Legacy Picnic: Celebrating 125 Years of NCS Families.
When you check-in, we will share which events alumnae from your Class are attending. Prior to the weekend, check out the Who’s Coming section of the Reunion website and encourage your classmates to attend!
Please add your requests to the registration page when you RSVP online, and/or reach out to Director of Alumnae Engagement Chloe Cogo at (202) 537-6359.
