Opening Day kicked off our 125th academic year! The Class of 2025 walked members of the Class of 2033 (Grade 4 students) into Washington National Cathedral for the Opening Day service. Head of School Elinor Scully delivered a homily in which she encouraged all members of the NCS community to root for each other and for the school. Yuhan L. ’26 performed a beautiful rendition of Gershwin/Wild’s transcription of “Embraceable You.” After the service, the entire school community gathered on the North Lawn for the raising of the flag by student leaders, officially marking the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year.
